Want to insulate your WordPress blog from future link rot? Try changing your permalink WordPress settings (from your WordPress Dashboard, click on Settings at the bottom of the Settings menu). This is best done early on, because doing so later can break links to your blog posts (there is a fix for that, but it’s a good idea to back up any posts before changing your permalink settings). For more, check out this page from WordPress.org:

If you have time, check out how Gravatar can save you time with managing avatars and user profiles across multiple websites: http://en.gravatar.com/

The service is maintained by the same group that provides wordpress.com: Automattic

Gravitar is great. I’d been downlaoding, saving, and re-uploading ala Rube Goldberg. Thanks.
